Red Truck Wine Barrel of Fun

While many people are stocking up on cold brews for Super Bowl Sunday, we were fortunate to receive this mini-barrel of wine from Red Truck winery.

Like mini-kegs for beer drinkers, this mini-barrel makes serving and drinking fun for wine drinkers.  The barrel contains a simple, fruity (yet hearty) California red wine blend (including cabernet franc, our favorite red grape) that pairs well with party foods like pizza and burgers.  It's a very accessible wine that most people will enjoy.
Inside is a large tetra pack that contains the volume of 4 bottles of wine (3 liters of red wine or roughly 20 glasses).  The tap was easy to use and our friends liked the novelty of the wine barrel.

The Red Truck mini-barrel retails for $29.99 and is available online here.  It comes in both red wine and chardonnay.

  3. How the hell do you open it? I bought a mini-barrel, and cannot figure out how to get at the spigot, which is sealed in firmly with an irremovable shield of solid (and tantalizingly transparent) plastic.

  4. @Anon: We twisted and pulled the transparent cover off (so hard that the front cover came off! Luckily it was easy to re-attach)
